What's Coming Up:
Acting classes?? Look out Hollywood, Mistin is taking acting classes...again. It's not the first time. I took drama all through high school and thought I would give it another shot since I will be filming my very first music video in the next few months. I'm taking the classes through the National Institute of Dramatic Arts which is on tour in Canberra. Should make for some interesting photos.
Trio: Next Thursday I will be performing at the Belconnen Labor club with a new trio! In anticipation of more corporate events becoming available to me, I have formed this trio and thought it would be a good time to give it a test run. If your up for some entertainmentnext Thursday, come along for the show!
What Happened in June:
New Single on ACMEC Records Sampler: 'Head Over Heels' is the name of my first single to be officially released on radio! I recently recorded this song and two others with Producer Herm Kovac at Ramrod Studios. I had such a blast recording these songs as there was a throng of extremely talented musicians working on them. The songs were due to be finished earlier, but due to untimely cold/flu/allergies I couldn't get into the studio. Ehhem ehhem, all better now : ) A free download of 'Head Over Heels' will be available on the home page of my web site shortly (www.mistin.net) So if anyone is interested, please head over and have a listen. I would love to hear your comments/feedback so feel free to write in my guestbook!
$14,000.00!!: If you were in Bungendore on the 17th of June, the Harp Inn was the place to be. A fundraiser was being held for our neighbors, the Syphers family who tragically lost Nev, a husband and father, earlier that month. I provided the country music for the night, whilst the 400 people who came from Canberra, Braidwood and Bungendore supplied the $14,000 dollars that was raised for the family through raffles, auctions and donations. Its amazing what you can achieve when you work together.

Hats Off To Country: Did you happen to go to Tamworth last week for the mid year festival? Apparently it's not a very well know festival as it has only been going for about six years, but you could have fooled me. The streets were star studded...well not quite. I did happen to go to some very good shows to include Lee and Tanya Kernaghan with the McClymont sisters. If you haven¡¦t heard of the McClymonts they are amazing and I would definitely recommend seeing them live.

I had a few performances while I was in town for the festival to include two performances on Jim Haynes Brecky show with singer and guitarist Ryan Sampson and fiddler Penelope Somerville (I got my first real dowse of bush poetry at these shows and I think I'll be back for more in January), I was also a guest artist for Jason Lee and the Red Cedars band that were playing at the Central hotel and had a few radio interviews to promote my upcoming single.
I bumped into a few famous faces to include the very talented songwriter and producer Roger Corbett, The Baileys, Bill Chambers, the McClymonts and Lee Kernaghan's Auntie and Uncle. It was a very inspiring trip.
New car: Look out¡Kthe wheels are bigger. I think I'll name her the green machine. Actually I think that name is already taken by...a footy team? It will have to be Green Machine II. No dents or scrapes yet, but I had a few close calls the first couple of day with a kangaroo and Mercedes. All of which would have been the other parties fault completely if any damage was done I would like to add, ha-ha (isn't that the way it always goes?)
