What’s Coming Up:
Grenfell and Sydney: I thought I would let all you out of towner's know that I will be performing at the Sydney Antill Park Golf Club on the 9th of June from 7pm – 10pm and the Grenfell Royal Hotel on the 10th of June from 8:30pm – 12:30am (which is during the Henry Lawson Festival). Does anyone feel like going for a drive?? Should be good fun. Both are new venues for me. Hope to see you there!
What Happened in May:
Loaded Dog: A what?? The famous Loaded Dog Hotel in Tarago has live entertainers every month and last month I was that lucky entertainer. The show was great and the pub was jam packed with…Bikies? Ha-Ha. It almost turned into a Karaoke night with all of the sing alongs. Not quite what I expected but a lot of fun. : )

Photo Shoot: Close friend and wonderfully talented photographer, Terry Phillpot came for a bit of a holiday to Canberra. I was privileged enough to have a photo shoot with Terry, the results of which can be seen above. Terry also came along to my dad’s 40th birthday party and I’m afraid he’ll never look at my family the same, ha-ha.
Hay Ride: Starting where I left off…my dad celebrated his 40th birthday so we had a big Birthday bash. Besides having all the local Braidwood musicians drive in for a private concert, the highlight of the night was a tie between the 3 kg birthday cake with a bobcat on the front, and the hayride. (Due to current censorship laws, photos of the hayride cannot be included in this newsletter). The only time I have ever seen a hayride was on TV so it was all new to me. The party was held on my parents’ property, which made for a lot of ground to cover. The first ride or two were pretty tame for the kids that had come along, but come 1am the show started, and continued till 6:00 am. I’d like to publicly apologize to all of our neighbors, we were just having a bit of fun.
Recording: It finally happened! I spent two days at Ramrod Studio’s with Herm Kovac recording three tracks. Two are original songs that I wrote and one will hopefully be released to radio at the end of July. As soon as they are done, I’ll put samples up on the web page so please keep an eye and ear out for them.
Fundraiser: The fundraiser for the Queanbeyan Evening VIEW Club, which sponsors the Smith Family’s “Learning for Life” Program turned out to be a great evening. Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by to support a great charity and listen to some good country music. Members of the Country Music Association of Canberra provided the entertainment for the evening.
