What’s Coming Up

Fundraiser: Sunday 21st May @ The Queanbeyan
Kangaroo Football Club, 11am – 3pm

If you don’t have anything planned for Sunday the 21st of May, Head down to the Queanbeyan Kangaroo Football Club. The Country Music Association of Canberra is holding a fundraiser in which all proceeds will go to the Queanbeyan Evening VIEW Club, which supports The Smith Family’s “Learning for Life” Program. Admission is $10 with food and drinks available from the club.  The show starts at 11am featuring local musicians playing good country music until 3pm. I will be performing at 2:10. Hope to see some of you there!

What Happened in April

Wombat and Young: Canberra was getting a big quiet so we (Sound Engineer/Roadie Jeff and myself) packed up and headed out to the country for the weekend. I had a Friday night show in Wombat, yes it really is the name of a ‘village’. Historical Village to be precise, but that didn’t mean if was a ghost town. It was a great night and I was surprised to see so many people in a village pub! There was plenty of dancing and um…romancing? Ha-Ha, in the crowd that is. The next morning we headed up the road to Young. The show went from 8:30 – 12:30 and the pub was packed which is why gigs in the country are so much fun. Everyone just wants to dance, have a good time, and get in the occasional fight hmmm. Well for the most part it was a blast. J

Easter:  Overall April ended up being a fairly quiet month musically. For the Easter long weekend my family drove up to Stockton Beach in Newcastle and we spent the weekend racing quad bikes, swimming, laying on the beach and barbequing. I would say we were roughing it…but my family tends to bring the whole house when we go camping. So I guess we did it in style. J

Recording first single: Things are finally in motion for recording. It’s taken a while but I’m really excited and ready to start. I’m going to be recording with Herm Kovac at his studio in Sydney. Herm has recently recorded with Samantha McClymont and Travis Collins and has put out some really great work. Now I just have to make my final decision on the songs that I want to record. If any of you have my CD I would love for you to send me an email and tell me your favorite track. Also there is a new MP3 Download on my website of ‘Down That Road’ A song that I wrote and recorded this year in Tamworth, and there are samples of a few of my other songs. I would love to hear what you think and I’ll keep you updated on the progress.

New Web Page: The brand new web page is up and running! Pretty as ever thanks to Terry Phillpot from Eyeball Photographic Web Services. The new site can be found
